This viewpoint has to be earned, as you'll have to climb for around 15 minutes to reach the top of the Rocher de l'Impératrice, 35m high. But you won't be disappointed: the panorama stretches from Brest harbour to the Elorn river. For the record, Empress Eugenie (wife of Napoleon III), is said to have lost a ring here, hence the name of the site.

At 88m long, it is a favourite with locals and visitors alike, who come here to take their best shots of the harbour, the river Elorn and the Moulin-Blanc marina. Tip: go there at sunset!
